Palyginti su FMB640, FMB641 turi naują procesorių, kuris pagerina įrenginio skaičiavimo pajėgumus, todėl jis gali būti pritaikytas dar specifiškesniems naudojimo scenarijams. Įdiegti perjungiami CAN terminatoriai leidžia naudoti įrenginį CAN tinkle su daugybe mazgų. Be to, įrenginys gali būti maitinamas per USB, kad būtų lengviau atlikti konfigūracijos procesą.
